The students were able to experience first-hand some of the world’s best air craft both in static displays as well as amazing air displays. There were lots of stalls to visit, simulators to for thrills and lots of opportunities to sit in the cockpits of military aircraft.
Aircraft in the show included Hercules, Falcons, Tornados and a spectacular display of the Chinook helicopter’s awesome manoeuvres.
Aviation history was made when the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II took to the skies above RAF Fairford in its highly-anticipated international air show debut at the Air Tattoo. We witnessed it make a short take off and displayed its versatility in the air and finished with it stopping and hovering in mid-air before vertically landing.
The finale of the display was provided by the Red Arrows who did not disappoint with their dare devil stunts.
